The mission of the Hope Mills Area Chamber of Commerce is to sustain and further develop a thriving economy and to enhance our community's quality of life. We work hard to support the interests of the local business community.

Jan Spell

President

Jan Spell has served as president for the Hope Mills Chamber for years. She is a strong active member of the Hope Mills community. She is currently a member of the Hope Mills Kiwanis. On her free time she enjoys spending time with her Horses.

Casey Ferris

Vice President

Casey Ferris has served on the board for two years. She is the Marketing Director for Cape Fear Flooring & Restoration, and she handles the Chambers Marketing as well. She also serves on the board for the Women's Auxiliary and the Volunteer Committee for the Salvation Army as well as her local Kiwanis and the Special Events Committee with the Town of Hope Mills. She owns her own marketing business, Market House Co. She is a writer for several local magazines. 

Peggy Manning

Secretary

Ms. Manning is a lifetime resident of Cumberland County. She retired after 30 years with the Cumberland County Tax Office. She loves helping in the community and have done so since her early 20’s. She has served on the board for Habitat for Humanity, Community Concerts & the Walk to End Alzheimer’s just to name a few. She is currently on the advisory board for the Fayetteville Ladies Power Lunch and on the Leadership Team for the Fayetteville Diva’s (a women’s networking group). She is a graduate of Cape Fear High School and Fayetteville Community College. “I also have a love for fundraising and help many non-profit organizations raise funds. After retirement from CC Tax Office, my husband and I owned and published the Fayetteville / Sandhills Real Estate Book from 2000 – 2014. I also am a Division Manager with a direct sales jewelry Company, Park Lane Jewelry from 1986 – present. I am married to Retired CW4 John Manning, Sr. We have 3 sons and 5 grandchildren. We love to travel, boating, and yes love to Bowl. We attend Fayetteville Community Church. My mission in life is to Help others in any capacity possible.”

Shawnelle Jones

Board Member

Shawnelle Jones is the owner and creative director of Elegantly Posh Designs by

Shawnelle. She is Professionally certified, with over five years of experience. 

As well as being a Hope Mills Chamber member, She also serves on the Town of Hope Mills Special Events Board , Fayetteville Ladies Power Lunch Board ,

Vision Resource Center Board  and is a Fayetteville Divas Doing Business

member.

Dale Urquhart Sr.

Dale Urquhart Sr.

Dale is a professional business man from Hope Mills N.C. He grew up in the Fayetteville area. He attended Westover Sr high and Methodist college. He enjoys coaching youth ball and is an active member of the community. His spouse is Tammy L Urquhart an they have Two children Destiny & Dale Jr. & three grandkids. 

Grilley James Mitchell

Grilley James Mitchell

Grilley served twenty years in the US military, retired from Fort Bragg, NC 1993. Volunteer with the ALMS House serving as the Program Coordinator Love Lunch Ministry of Hope Mills. Bachelor of Science Degree in (Psychology), Very active in the community. Chairman for the Hope Mills Veterans Affairs Committee, Served as chairman for the Hope Mills Festival committee. Have been a part of several other committees within the Hope Mills community. Lifetime membership with several military organizations: Disable American Veterans, Non-Commissioned Officers Association, AMVETS, The Retired Enlisted Association, VFW and American Legion. I have a passion for being involved, with team building, working to find common ground to improve the community. I look forward to serving on the Chamber board to help develop, improve and grow business in the community.

Scarlett Black

Scarlett Black

Scarlett is a resident of Fayetteville, NC. She grew up in Hope Mills, and attended Gray's Creek High School. She went to college at The University of Arizona, before transferring back to NC to complete her degree online. She owns her own pageant coaching company, 'Scarlett's Pageant Consultation'. She is married to her husband, Jacob Black, and together they have 3 dogs.
